Port Said, the canal, and the moment the water under the hulls changes sea entirely.
From Alexandria you run east along the Delta to Port Said and take your place in the convoy. The transit is a whole day of desert on both sides, ships stacked to the horizon, and the wide silence of the Great Bitter Lake in the middle.
Past Suez the gulf opens. The air gets hotter, the water turns glass clear, and the first reefs slide by under the boat.
You finish on the Egyptian Red Sea coast, anchored above coral, snorkelling before breakfast.

Taking your place in the convoy
Port Said at first light, pilots stepping aboard, tankers stacked to the horizon and your catamaran slipping in among them. It feels like being let backstage at something enormous.
A whole day between two deserts
Sand on both sides, camels on the bank, and the strange wide calm of the Great Bitter Lake in the middle. Breakfast, lunch and tea on deck while a continent slides past.
The moment the sea changes
Past Suez the air turns hot, the water goes from blue to glass, and the first coral appears under the hulls. One passage, two seas, and you felt every mile of the join.

Diving this leg
The first coral of the Red Sea
After the canal, the colour below the yacht changes completely. The first reef dives are unhurried introductions to warm water, coral gardens and visibility that opens for tens of metres.

A Lagoon EIGHTY 2 sailing catamaran, created for long passages and private life at sea. Built in 2025, with expansive decks, quiet interiors and a private sea terrace for the owner's suite. Captain Sven, chef, stewardess and deckhand. Four people who make life aboard feel effortless. Cruising 7 to 11 knots, with a fast 6.65 metre tender for shores, reefs and hidden bays.

Meals follow your day, not a timetable. Cabins stay quiet and cool while the crew take the night watches. When the anchor drops, the platform lowers and life moves straight into the water.

The culinary direction was created with three-star chef Jacob Jan Boerma. Freshness comes first: local fish, bright vegetables, clean flavours and plates made for warm days on deck.
